Zevlin DM is a combination therapy designed for adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who need multi-pathway glycemic control but require a lower initial dose. This formulation delivers identical kidney and pancreatic benefits to the 1000 mg variant, but utilizes a 500 mg Extended Release (ER) Metformin base—making it ideal for patients initiating triple therapy, those balancing GI sensitivity, or individuals with mild renal impairment requiring a capped Metformin intake. The Triple Mechanism of Action This combination targets three distinct physiological systems simultaneously to lower blood glucose: Sitagliptin 100 mg (Pancreas & Gut): A DPP-4 inhibitor that elevates incretin hormones. This stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from the pancreas and suppresses glucagon release after meals, tackling post-prandial (post-meal) blood sugar spikes. Dapagliflozin 10 mg (Kidneys): An SGLT2 inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption. It safely flushes approximately 70 grams of excess glucose per day out of the body through the urine, independent of insulin. Metformin 500 mg ER (Liver & Muscle): A lower-dose biguanide that suppresses hepatic glucose production (the liver dumping sugar overnight) and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.
